Travel: 10% (travel to brand, category and geographical cluster owners globally)

eCommerce and new business models are a major growth driver for Unilever developing an innovation pipeline of e-models, leveraging its strong global brands to create new online platforms and services. The new HATCHOUSE is a business unit dedicated to create, develop and launch direct to consumer business models across the globe. The real-time, agile, deep routed specialist ‘hands on' retail nature of eCommerce means that top talent expertise is required to succeed in the Hatchouse Team. This team will identify and evaluate (proactively and reactively) new e-business models across all product categories and markets and work closely with the brand teams and categories to ingrain eCommerce and Direct to consumer strategy.

Main job purpose
You will be key player in ensuring we are ahead of the curve with digital innovation, consumer friction points, technology and connected world behaviours. You will be the voice of tomorrow's eCommerce shopper, feeding Unilever eCommerce proactively with data and consumer insights to identify and develop DTC business opportunities. You have to be a future oriented, proactive, data oriented leader who feeds the team and global categories with data ammunition. This is a key role and a first of its kind within the team so this role requires a unique blend of a commercial mind-set, a natural curiosity for tomorrow, and always data oriented. A passion for consumers, shoppers and business model insight is a must.

You will be a ‘natural retailer' and your responsibilities include analysing, reviewing, recommending and building strategic and tactical changes to new e-business models. You will be experienced in leading quant and qual digital research programms and set the future of new businesses.

Key accountabilities

· Co-ownership of Unilever's broader eCommerce 2016 to 2020 ambitions
· Be part of the eCommerce leadership team to form and develop the Hatchouse at Rotterdam Weena in The Netherlands
· Surround Unilever eCommerce with world class digital and eCommerce partners experts in this field
· Spot and identify the market leading edge, Customer Experience tactics including Design & Aesthetics, Content, Navigation, Information Architecture, and Performance & Functionality
· Be the company expert on emerging digitally born business models and brands
Customer Insight (through deep segmentation), Marketing Insight, Business Insight
· Predictive and Data Analysis – Build reporting trends by using key data tools (PPC, Google Adwords, etc.)
Forecast and build knowledge/capabilities for scalable, competitive, sustainable growth
· Monitor research and development of current eCommerce organizations to spot trends in innovation and supplement research findings in Unilever's product categories
· Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practices
· Motivate and support a local brand, category and geographical cluster teams within e-partnerships
· Positively impact and influence internal stakeholders and external partners
· Grow the awareness and benefits of well deployed e-business models within Unilever globally
· Uphold Unilever's brands' standards as well as Unilever global objectives

You will report to: Global HATCH DTC Disruptive Models Leader. In the first wave you will have no direct reports.

Critical Success Factors of the Job
Relevant Experience:

· 3 to 5+ years of analytics / insight experience with an emphasis on Direct to Consumer / eCommerce / Start-up / New models
· Leader with strong entrepreneurial bias that has a proven track record in building, managing and motivating digitally disruptive agile teams, which delivered exceptional results
· Leading quantitative and qualitative digital research programs
· Leading data and consumer insights driven strategies into business results
· Experience with digital and e-business
· Start-up experience (not mandatory)

Key Skills:

· Have a deep understanding of retail, eCommerce and marketing businesses
