Job description

MAIN JOB PURPOSE: Lead and provide management of the manufacturing site planning and logistics teams, as well as 3P, where relevant. To lead the Customer Service and Logistics Pillar for WCM on site with the objective of balancing service with cost. To participate and actively contribute to Site Leadership teams and forums. To provide the link between site planning teams and category planning manager.

JOB SUMMARY
• Site planning team and logistics team management:
• Ensures optimised plans developed together with operation teams in order to minimise downtime and maximise output
• Ensures site planning team's effective use of APO to determine forward production plans and subsequent material requirements – includes maintenance of master data in SAP
• Develops, manages and controls departmental budgets (both warehouse 3P and site planning)

• RM/PM management: Responsible for warehousing of all inbound materials which includes stock counts, stock rotation, stock controls and system transaction processing directly or via warehouse 3P (query management)
• Resolves material shortages/ inconsistencies and mitigates impact on firmed production plans
• Manages RM/PM business waste (material run down plans, obsolescence, SLOBs, MOQs)

• Production scheduling: Ensures that issued production plans (both site and 3P) take into account factory resources (labour, capacity, materials) and supplier capability and reliability (raw and packaging availability/lead time)
• Ensure short term (wk 1-52) plans are developed
• Optimise use of imports, 3Ps and sourcing unit to best reconcile demand and supply

• Stakeholder engagement: Align with innovation planning across key innovations, category planning manager to optimise working capital and service level trade-offs with regards to import, business excellence and IP team to optimise systems usage, factory accountants to develop budgets, outbound logistics across cost and service efficiencies and participate across site leadership initiatives
• World Class Manufacturing: Pillar leader for Customer Service and Logistics

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant University Degree/ National Diploma/ Supply Chain qualification or equivalent
• APICS (modules 1-5), or working towards obtaining full qualification
• 3 years FMCG experience in planning with 2 years in an operational role
• Planning and functional business process knowledge
• Working knowledge of S&OP
• Understanding of “Make” and “Source” processes
• Proficient leadership and management experience across a strong Team, Stakeholders and Suppliers
• SAP / APO/ CCP/ ROP working knowledge and experience required
• Commercial Acumen, Excellent communication skills, Strong service mindset and Strong bias for action
