Background & Purpose of the Job

This role is a member of the Henderson Maintenance Team responsible for the factory automation, upgrading automation skills of maintenance team, and CapEx project execution/ramp-up. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects encompassing Safety, Quality, Cost Savings, Capacity, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
As an Automation Controls Engineer, you provide automation support & expertise to the facility in the electrical, instrumentation and controls disciplines primarily for batch, continuous processes and packaging systems. You collaborate with the electrical and mechanical maintenance, operations, safety, and Quality Assurance personnel to help deliver business objectives utilizing their technical skills to contribute. The role will ensure that projects are delivered on time with a strong focus on safety, quality, budget & schedule adherence.


Who You Are & What You'll Do
· Work to deliver an agreed portfolio of projects under the leadership of the relevant Engineering Manager and Site Maintenance Manager.
· Ensure professional project execution with strong stakeholder engagement along with a high level of communication to multiple levels of the organization.
· Support Engineering Manager to check feasibility of capex projects working collaboratively with Quality, Safety, Manufacturing, Marketing, R+D and plant personnel to clarify the brief, understand work scope, estimate costs and create viable timelines.
· Work with internal UL Engineering teams and 3 rd parties to develop Concept, FEED and Detailed Designs to meet the business need inputting local requirements and constraints as required.
· Develop Project Execution Plan and schedule.
· Execute the project ensuring adherence to schedule, budget. Manage site construction, contractors, and OEM's ensuring Unilever Construction Safety Standards are applied.
· Assist factory with non-capital improvements identifying enhancements in ways of working to improve line or infrastructure efficiencies.
· Assist the maintenance department with complex controls related troubleshooting, while working with maintenance personnel to increase the site's controls skill sets.

What You'll Need To Succeed
Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Typically requires 0 to 7 years of related experience. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. You'll need to have strong Project Management skills to include: Engineering Design Process, Management Project Delivery Steps and Processes (Plan, Design, Procure, Build, commission, and close out). Contract Management & Conflict Resolution Budget Management is needed. Proven background in good plant design and project engineering experience in a manufacturing is a must. Proficiency in MS Office – Excel / Power Point and Word required. Working knowledge on Engineering software - AutoCAD, MS Project desirable. Travel is approximately 5%.
