Job description

Main Job Purpose:

Nutrition enables our products to fit into a healthy sustainable diet. As a Progressive food and refreshment company in line with consumer needs, nutrition is a core feature of our products and communication. We are responsible for the nutrition agenda of Foods and Refreshment. We believe that with our strong understanding of consumers behaviors, their preferences, their needs and the trends, we can provide the foods and refreshments that consumers want, while impactfully addressing the big environmental and health demands.



A successful candidate will be joining a committed and passionate team of professionals that work to empower people to make healthy, sustainable food and beverage choices. Nutrition is part of Research and Development (R&D). Nutrition drives business opportunities and growth through product development, claims, communication and activation of our brands.

With business partners across multiple functions nutrition is fully involved from idea generation to product launch. Nutrition focusses on growing Unilever's business and reputation by providing world class nutrition and health innovation.

Main Accountabilities:

· Provide nutrition support to the projects, in line with the category programme; translating nutrition and health insights into opportunities for inputting in & landing of innovations and renovations into the market (based on understanding of dietary needs and food habits, product composition and serving sizes).

· Judge the nutritional soundness of claims and communication as translated from regional/global programme.

· Input into the Cluster product portfolio to help drive progress on the Global and Cluster category Commitments.

· Keep track of the Competitor reformulation plans and communication thereof.

· Keep track of health trends and its impact on category portfolio.

· Input into Global Reporting Needs.

· Deliver the nutrition and health programme with cluster category nutrition leader and actively share insights and learnings with the relevant global category nutrition team.

Communication:

· Inputs to the development of key Nutrition and Health messages and involved in claims co-generation for regional innovations and renovations, depending on countries in scope.

· Brand activation – implement aligned content for nutritionally-sound communication about products, recipes and their role in a healthy, sustainable diet.

· Checks scientific credibility/nutritional soundness of translated claims and communication material.

· Deliver Health Influencer (ranges from scientific academics, dietitians, to food and diet bloggers) communication programme, aligned with the category, to support product portfolio.

Product expertise:

· Knowledgeable of category products from a nutrition and health perspective, and the role they play in the diet

· Active awareness of health and wellness initiatives linked to consumers, competitor brands, and products.

Relevant Experience:

· 3 years of relevant working experience in a relevant discipline such as R&D, nutrition and health in FMCG, (public health) communication, science PR

· Experience in nutrition communications and health influencer outreach and communications (not relevant for the new graduate)

· RD or BSC degree in Nutrition, public health or other relevant discipline.

Key skills and requirements:

· General expertise in applied Nutrition and Health.

· Experience in nutrition/ health education and communication (not relevant for the new graduates).

· Expertise in Health Influencer Communication (not relevant for the new graduates).

· Expertise in product composition assessment (not relevant for the new graduates).

· Expertise with nutrient calculation programmes.

· Team orientation and strong team work skills.

· Superior Communication and presentation skills.

· Well-developed critical thinking skills.

· Fluent in language of the key country in MCO.

· Fluent in English (both oral and written).
