Ubisoft Odesa was opened in March 2018 and takes part in the development of Ubisoft’s world-known franchises.

The Animation Rigger will have to ensure the creation/implementation of the highly versatile rigging systems, animation tools, and interfaces for the execution of all specific video game projects.

As the Rigger, you will work in close collaboration with animators, character modelers, and the artistic director in order to produce high-quality animations.

Responsibilities:

·  Recognize proper mesh topology as well as repair and/or give feedback to the Character Modeling Department; 
·  Create proxy meshes and retopologize existing models if it’s needed;
·  Based on the models provided by the Character Modeling Department, carry out the rigging and skinning of the characters to meet the needs of project animators and of the technical and artistic directors; 
·   Ensure that the final result (rigging/skinning) meets the artistic standards of the project; 
·  Develop the rigging workflow, pipeline and design the documentation for your team.
·  Provide knowledge and solutions for complex rigging, animation and shading pipeline problems. Animate and create Motion editing within a complex animation system.
·  Hands-on approach in the rigging of a variety of characters and props.Python, mel, 3DsMaxScript
·  Develop and improve the tools, procedures for the streamlining of an efficient animation pipeline.

Requirements :

·  Proven working experience and a keen eye for motion and animation in the videogame.
·  Team player, good communication skills, functional English proficiency.
·  Working knowledge of rigging in 3DSMAX, Maya,  MotionBuilder
·  In-depth knowledge of anatomy; 
·  Knowledge of the IK and optimal pivotal points; 
·  Knowledge of the limitations of the game engine and production needs; 
·  Artistic ability.

Desirable (optional):

·  Scripting experience with Python, Mel and/or Max script
·  Knowledge of the dynamic cloth tools would be a plus
·  Good knowledge of modern game engines would be a big plus.
