Anno 1800 takes players to 19th century, a time of industrialization, diplomacy and discovery. With the world and story of Anno growing, so is the team behind it. At Ubisoft Mainz in Germany, we are now looking for a talented Game Writer  to work on the game’s systemic and narrative text. You will be part of a talented and highly motivated team of narrative designers. 

Your responsibilities: 

·  Write in-game-text and dialogue following form and content
·  Support the conception of narrative concepts such as a campaign or a tutorial
·  Create NPC Profiles and the subsequent text and audio messages
·  Create additional game text such as tool tips, in game descriptions and marketing proposals
·  Closely collaborate with Game and Content Design as well as localization and QA
·  Creation and support of the audio book
·  Work with internal tools to manage text creation, localization and version control
·  Lecture and rework 3rd party text contents
·  Initial experience as a game writer, editor, screenwriter or creative writer
·  Excellent writing skills in English 
·  High level of general education and a preference for historical topics
·  Strong ability to work in a structured environment with digital text management tools is beneficial
·  Familiarity with game production pipelines and common scheduling, task and issue tracking tools (such as Perforce, Jira, etc.)
·  Ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to resolve complex issues is mandatory
·  Strong verbal and written English skills; German skills are a plus
·  Team player with a positive attitude and a superior motivation to create high quality content
