Context :

You will work inside the Technology department (GEO) doing research under international framework, predominantly Russian onshore, on the technical topics related to soil/structure interactions in permafrost for design and operation.

Activities :

You should have knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• permafrost characteristics in the Yamal and Gydan peninsulas
• infrastructure interaction with permafrost (wells, roads, etc)
• cooling systems (thermosyphons and piles)
Some of the major responsibilities include:
• Analyzing technical and literature data in Russian and English
• Calcualtion

Timeframe: 6 months
Deliverable: Report (with executive summary) and Presentation in English

Profil recherché

You are looking for an end-of-studies internship specialised in geology/geography/civil engineeringthat have a minimum duration of 6 months.

Qualifications / experience required:

·  Demonstrated experience working with GIS (geographical information system) and remote sensing data, InSAR.
·  Good level in Russian and in English.
·  Calculation techniques ( Best if it is for thermal and mechanical properties of frozen saline soils).
·  Analytical and calculation skills.
