Role Title: Software Engineer

Role Purpose / Description


Purpose of Department
Data and Decision Systems under credit control services is an integrated team which is mainly responsible for the delivery and support of the risk management tools, systems and data across HSBC. The team also serves as a Decisioning center of expertise for multiple Account Originations/Management risk systems along with the custodians of Global collections data.
Retail Data and Decision Systems group facilitates the deployment of account originations and management strategies through the FIM approved decisioning tools. The team would need to interface heavily between the various technology team and the end users. The core functions include external interface build, data validations, process improvement, system documentation, providing consulting, L2 & L3 support, guidance and delivering comprehensive credit bureau platforms to support risk management intelligence, analytics, MI generation, and ETL along with data management.
The position is to support the Retail Data and Decision Systems Account Management and origination's function within the RBWM IT CCS team.

Job Description

• Work collaboratively with the Business partners and vendor to develop, deploy and monitor the Data Access Hub Management tools. The runtime objects are deployed through Connect +, and Provenir.
• Provide consulting to the entire HSBC group for the Credit Bureau setup and application level architectural setup with HSBC internal systems and external vendor applications.
• Suggest pro-active solutions to the issues/incidents reported on the Credit Bureau tools
• Manage and drive strategic projects in the Data Access hub area. The projects would need to be driven end-to-end right from the conceptualization of the requirements, monitoring the budget, communication with the different stake holders, participation in the UAT and providing post implementation support
• Ability to learn and manage vendor relationships and vendor platforms to ensure HSBC requirements are met and ensure data access is secure and accurate.
• Manage in-house Reporting/Dashboards
• Document system configurations and versioning. Periodically participate on projects geared to improve process and technology to advance capabilities in the decisioning aspect of external Data Access.
• Take personal responsibility for surfacing and solving issues
• Prepare presentations and develop recommendations for processes
• Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company and regulatory standards, policies and practices.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Skills/Experience Required
• Bachelor degree in any of the discipline like Mathematics, Computer Science from a reputed university
• Experience in either of these Connect+, Provenir, SMG3, or FICO Blaze, Must have 2+ years of work experience
• Exposed to credit bureau and using of bureau data in decision system is preferable
• JavaScript – Knowledge of Java, JSP, or JavaScript programmer with ability to identify and correct performance issues.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with background in technical and business
communications
• Excellent inter-personal skills, comfortable and successful establishing professional relationships
• Demonstrated ability to meet critical time-sensitive objectives, emphasis on planning skills
• Ability to work autonomously, delegate and plan appropriately, as well as work collaboratively with various groups to drive high quality results.
• Good knowledge of MS Office would be an added advantage
