Distribution Coordinator

About the role:


Thales Australia provides logistics services expertise to our customer, the Australian Defence Force. The logistics business provides storage, maintenance and distribution to the Department of Defence in an ongoing contractual agreement.

Thales will train and qualify you to work in each area of our logistics business including, storage, maintenance and distribution. This will be comprised of ‘on the job' training as well as courses through our in-house registered training organisation.

You will primarily be responsible for managing the operation of the Orchard Hills depots distribution functions in accordance with the Contract Statement of Work (SOW) ensuring, safety, compliance and customer service.

Within the logistics services business there are 17 depots throughout Australia which allows various development opportunities as we strongly believe in promoting from within where possible.


Key Responsibilities:


· Ensure that EO (Explosive Ordnance) Transport operations in Orchard Hills are conducted in accordance with the regulatory requirements of Commonwealth and State authorities
· Ensure the serviceability of and manage the Thales Australia vehicle fleet and GFE (Government Furnished Equipment) at Orchard Hills
· Apply the Safety Management System in EO Depot Orchard Hills.
· Enforce and/or seek guidance on the application of Thales Australia and EO Services QMS in EO Depot Orchard Hills
· Participate in the development and implementation of local procedures for the conduct of EO operations.
· Liaise and communicate with customers on requirements.
· Ensure that demands, receipts and returns are processed to meet the PMF
· Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of relevant reports and documentation
· Ensure the prompt reporting of all incidents and near misses in accordance with EO (Explosive Ordnance) Services procedures
· Always watch out for others, maintain awareness of and strive to achieve the companies health and safety goals and objectives

Skills and Experience:

· Demonstrated experience in logistics and/or storage and distribution
· Proven organizational skills with the ability to communicate with various stakeholders
· Intermediate PC literacy skills
· Previous experience within a Defence, Dangerous Good and/or Logistics environment would be a real bonus

Special Requirements:

You must be able to obtain an Australian Security Clearance.

A police check and medical are required for this role.

Existing NV1 holders would be highly advantageous
