DESCRIPTION

Amazon seeks an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join a newly created Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance (ERMC) team. Amazon has a diverse set of global businesses, and each business has some level of compliance requirements across multiple areas, including Payments, Trade, Human Resources, Tax, Social Responsibility, and others. While the responsibility for maintaining compliance is with the individual business areas, this team ensures each business has an effective ERMC program with processes, controls and self-testing in place to address their regulatory responsibilities. This team also assists in risk ranking and mitigation of gaps identified throughout the organization.

In this role, you'll own capacity planning to ensure ERMC team has the right people, in the right place, at the right time to deliver quality results that meet service levels at the proper workforce. You will experience a wide range of problem solving situations, strategic to require a use of data collection and analysis, build up statistic/ML model to do forecasting and develop short term/long term capacity plans. You'll work with multiple teams, and work with multiple sources. This is a high impact role that directly impacts business.

Duties & responsibilities for this role will include:
· Develop short/long term capacity plans that enable business strategies by having the people they need, in the right places, with the right skills, at the right time.
· Use statistic/machine learning, continuously-evolving to build, maintain, and improve forecast models and capacity models, standardize methodologies along with data to ensure accurate prediction of forecasting, productivity and headcount.
· Leading weekly planning calls. Interacting with and influencing operation and compliance leaders.
· Monitor business progress against the execution of capacity plans by design, development, and maintenance of ongoing reports/dashboards.
· Proposing and prioritizing changes to key metric reporting, creating additional metrics and processes based on program changes and customer requirements.
· Prepare ad-hoc analysis & participate on projects as needed.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, experience in capacity planning, strong communication skills, an ability to work effectively with cross functional teams, and an ability to work in an ever-changing environment.

Desired profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Master of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Transportation, Operations Research or related field.
· 3+ years' experience as a BIE, data scientist, data engineer, business analyst, capacity planning analyst or similar job function within a technology company.
· 1+ year working experience in capacity planning (forecasting and headcount planning)
· Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development.
· Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like QuickSight, Tableau or similar BI tools.
· Experience of working in very large data warehouse environments.
