Job Description

The Technical Trainer will report to the Training Program Manager and be responsible for developing and facilitating technical training for Energy Products for the EMEA region. The training will be aimed at both our Certified Installer partners as well as our internal teams. Working with regional stakeholders, the Technical Trainer will assess training needs and develop content in the field of Battery Storage solutions installation, troubleshooting and quality. This will be accomplished through, online continuing education courses, webinars and hands-on training in the field. The Technical Trainer will work closely with the Training Program Manager as well as the Quality Assurance Managers prioritize the training needs in the field and work with designated regional Quality Specialists to localize and deploy the Training initiatives.

The ideal candidate has significant experience leading a PV and Battery Storage installation crew and a demonstrated track record of high quality, efficient and safe installations. This person must be a charismatic motivator and an effective communicator. They must also be patient with new installers, organized, consistent, and creative. Previous training or coaching experience is preferred.

This position will be based out of Amsterdam.

Responsibilities

·  Overall responsibility for developing training content including:
·  Create and own content development for Technical training on Energy Products including but not limited to both residential and commercial Battery Storage solutions.
·  Localize existing training content to the needs of the region
·  Delivery of material, using most appropriate method (e-learning, webinar, Instructor-led, video)
·  Manage content based on feedback and amend/revise programs as necessary in order to adapt to changes occurring in work environment
·  Develop supporting pre-work and ongoing follow up training to emphasize learnings across channels
·  Establish appropriate delivery methodology for course materials, including pre-work and follow up.
·  Upskill & coach regional designated trainers to deliver content.
·  Conduct Technical Training from start to finish as needed.
·  Create content for online toolbox talks when quality issues arise.
·  Responsible for finding exciting and creative ways to deliver training information and material.
·  Make independent decisions on which locations and CIs require additional training based on metrics and QA Manager feedback.
·  Stay abreast of product & process changes and updates that will affect installation.
·  Conduct regional site visits to evaluate installer work in cooperation with the QA Manager and use findings to improve training content.
·  Work closely with Training Program Manager to ensure robust feedback loop between regional and global training results as well as Quality, Tech Support and Service.
·  Collaborate with the Training Coordinator in regards to training schedules and logistics.
·  Actively promote a culture of safety in accordance with Tesla and industry standard safety requirements.
·  Drive other projects as needed by executives or as business needs change.

Desired profile

Requirements

·  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Electrical Certification required
·  Electrical education is required a minimum of City and Guilds 2382 17 th Edition or EU equivalent
·  Minimum 1 year experience in a management position (ie. crew lead, construction manager)
·  Minimum 3 year working as a Storage/PV installer
·  Comfortable working with spreadsheets, word processing, and cloud based applications
·  Proven management and supervisory skills
·  Comfortable in a fast paced field environment
·  Comfortable presenting on camera and for live audiences
·  Passion for coaching others and strong desire to develop in the Technical Training field.
·  Must be very organized and be able to meet aggressive timelines
·  Must have a valid driver’s license
·  Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
·  Excellent customer service skills required
·  Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time

Preferred

·  Language proficiency in multiple EU languages (German/Italian/Spanish/French) highly desirable.
·  Experience with video/audio authoring tools a plus.
