The Role:

The Production Control Pilot Project Manager will coordinate and facilitate the design, development and execution of all Production Control processes for Model 3 in order to allow for a successful transition from the Material Flow Engineering group to the Production Control operations team. The role will work closely with PC operations and various engineering support groups to achieve ramp goals and highlight any material risks. The role will report to the Manager of PC Change and Analytics.

Responsibilities / Key Tasks:

·  Work with production, engineering and support groups to understand the material flow requirements for Model 3 at a given production rate. Ensure that timelines and deliverables are well defined and tracked from the start.
·  Maintain the Production Control – Material Flow Engineering accountability matrix to understand the state of readiness for a given materials process at any time. Work with representatives from the engineering group to update and provide this information to PC management for decision-making.
·  Execute critical tasks to achieve the M3 ramp plan and work with all necessary stakeholders to define solutions to material blockers at any stage of the ramp.
·  Coordinate with PC-internal groups to provide support to fill any process planning gaps and communicate between these groups and the PC Operations management teams.
·  Set up necessary meetings and training events to ensure all stakeholders remain up to date on the ever-changing plans.
·  Work with the PC Analytics and Factory Software Integration team to identify any system support gaps to the manual PC processes.
·  Focus on all elements of the manual materials delivery for the Body-In-White 3 assembly line. Ensure that the operations team is set up for success by working with the appropriate teams to provide a clearly defined dock and conveyance process, standard work instructions, and a functioning internal and external replenishment system.
·  Assist the PC Model 3 Change team with setting up the Body-In-White change process. Ensure that all stakeholders in body line changes are both engaged with the PC team and providing accurate and timely information. Also, ensure that the process of communicating changes to the PC operations team is well defined and being executed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or Business
·  2+ years’ experience in engineering warehousing processes and material flow concepts in a manufacturing environment
·  Experience in logistics management
·  Has worked with Kanban systems for material replenishment
·  Proficient at using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
