Be a key technical member of the commercial team that focuses on evaluating and defining new Tesla Energy sales opportunities, and working to deploy product against them. This is multi-faceted role where strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals – mechanical, electrical, and thermal – is expected. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team oriented personality, members of our team display creativity, passion, and a desire to break new ground in a constantly shifting technology landscape. The candidate will report to the EMEA Bid Team Manager on all type of activities.

Tasks and learning goals

·  Understand energy markets and translate the relevant parameters in to algorithms for storage dispatch
·  Work with prospective customers to identify best commercial and technical fit of Tesla’s battery systems by creating and defining the business case
·  Support to the Energy Products Bid Team EMEA in preparing and winning energy storage tenders through the creation of concise and accurate tender bids (sales proposals, costs calculations, technical specifications, technical layouts, etc.)
·  Participate in on-going proceedings related to tariffs and market mechanisms to inform / update modeling processes
·  Proactively develop quantitative tools to identify new business opportunities and storage applications
·  Acquire insights on the nascent energy storage market.
·  Build a hands-on experience of sales, technical, and financial frameworks of energy infrastructures projects
·  Work in an exciting fast-paced, multicultural and cross-functional environment

Desired profile

Requirements

·  BS/MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Thermal)
·  Proficiency in CAD, MATLAB, Excel
·  Ability to prioritize and execute many tasks in parallel
·  Fluency in English and Dutch, additional languages a plus
·  Demonstrated experience in analyzing and algorithm development to solve complex problems
·  Demonstrated experience related to energy markets and utilities
·  Excellent communication and documentation skills
·  Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid
·  Knowledge of Battery Systems, Power Conversion, and grid systems
