Fleet and Equipment Supervisor – Chassis Dynamics

A Fleet and Equipment Supervisor – Chassis Dynamics is responsible for vehicle fleet coordination and maintenance, test trip planning, equipment operation and maintenance, and equipment schedule management for associated systems in support of current and future programs for the Chassis Dynamics Engineering Team.

Responsibilities

Vehicle Fleet Management

·  Coordinate usage of vehicle prototype fleet (~30 vehicles) using internal vehicle tracking systems (ScheduleIt and JIRA)
·  Decide vehicle allocation based on engineering team needs with engineering management
·  Create and follow up on vehicle shipping requests to various proving grounds and internal sites
·  Organize test time and contracts with various proving grounds as needed
·  Schedule Engineer training for usage as required
·  Maintain vehicle spec and maintenance schedule
·  Assist management of prototype vehicle builds

Vehicle Workshop and Test Equipment Management

·  Schedule usage of various test equipment including damper dynos, brake dynos, force measurement machines, kinematic and compliance rig, and prototype fabrication equipment (mini-lathe, press equipment, welders)
·  Coordinate training of technicians and engineers for usage of equipment
·  Maintain equipment maintenance schedules and operate of equipment as required
·  Operation of scheduled testing
·  Preparation and storage of reports from data as required
·  Design and fabrication of necessary jigs for equipment usage
·  Organization of vehicle workshop area and equipment

Test Equipment Management

·  Design and fabrication of necessary jigs for test equipment usage
·  Coordinate usage of vehicle and component test equipment
·  Decide test equipment allocation based on engineering team needs with engineering management
·  Organize test equipment and create tracking method
·  Maintain equipment maintenance schedule

Skills and Qualifications

·  Associate’s Degree in Project Management or equivalent relevant field experience
·  Proven expertise in schedule and project management
·  Hands-on experience in test equipment operation, maintenance, validation, and reporting activities (fabrication experience preferred)
·  Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software preferred
