POSITION PURPOSE:

·  No direct reports
·  Consults with other local & Divisional sources as required.
·  Supports sales department in a multi-function role to provide technical solutions to quotations and procurement teams for new sales opportunities
·  Participates as a team member & communicates information to appropriate parties at the appropriate time.
·  Has some customer contact, usually with supervision. Makes presentations.
·  Begins to develop relationships with customer technical or service personnel.
·  Encourages positive feedback from all directions. Receptive to critical comments; actively seeks out diverse perspectives.
·  Demonstrates solid understanding of policies & procedures that apply to assignments.
·  Operates within local organization and accomplishes work with limited consultation.
·  Receives general instructions for routine projects & detailed instructions for more complex projects.
·  Receives some guidance on process & timing.
·  Uses independent judgment in determining how to approach / solve problems.

POSITION DUTIES:

·  Ensures technical accuracy and completeness for new equipment quotes/proposals
·  Supports planning/procurement teams for technical direction when costing new and existing designs
·  Uses the CAD/CAM and database systems and facilities to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment designs.
·  Prepares documentation, information and communications such as ECN (Engineering Change Notices), technology assessment plans (TAP) and operations and maintenance manuals and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures related to engineering functions, labor reporting and systems reporting.
·  Consults with other departments on equipment designs, problems and questions.
·  Makes field trips with sales and service personnel with new products and technical applications.
·  Organizes deliverables effectively and manages the workload and deliverables of themselves and other resources related to assigned tasks
·  Attends field locations and functions to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.
·  Makes field visits to troubleshoot/triage any product failures or non-conformances as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·  BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
·  Two to five years of experience applying working principles within assigned technical field or MS degree and no experience.
·  Working knowledge of specific process technologies, procedures, products and applications.
·  Working knowledge of at least one FMC or related product line – exposure to other lines. Some knowledge of competitor products.
·  Demonstrated ability to create functional & cost-effective designs that meet specification requirements with supervision.
·  Demonstrates some capability for conceptualizing designs.
·  Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which assigned.
·  Must be proficient in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
·  Shows evidence of good organization skills.
·  Knowledgeable of wellhead, frac and pressure pumping product lines.
·  Ability to troubleshoot product non-conformances with little supervision on field service/plant location as required.
·  Ability to use product life-of-field data for product improvement designs.
·  Working knowledge of competitor products preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Plant/Service Base/Office environment. Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. while working in assembly areas and field service applications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Spends 90% of time sitting and operating a computer or workstation. Spends 10% of time lifting, pushing, and walking. Some climbing. Occasional travel to field locations expected.
