Our Pipe Stress/Pipe Support Engineer position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting small to medium scale Petrochemical projects in our Boston, MA office.

Our Pipe Stress/Pipe Support Engineer will:

·  Perform detailed computerized pipe stress analysis of critical piping systems using CAESAR II.
·  Design and qualify pipe supports and associated structure.
·  Perform local stress evaluations of welded attachments and equipment nozzle connections.
·  Determine the need for metallic expansion joints in piping systems and develop relevant data required for the specification and purchase of expansion joint assemblies.
·  Prepare specifications for the purchase of engineered pipe support assemblies.
·  Prepare specifications for the field erection, installation and insulation of piping, pipe supports, expansion joints, equipment, and associated piping components.
·  Travel to operating plants to inspect piping, pipe support, and expansion joint installations.
·  Have the opportunity to cross-train with other engineering disciplines and grow in the position for the future of the Boston office.

Basic Qualifications:

·  3+ years of professional experience related to mechanical and thermal stress analysis or structural engineering.
·  Experienced in AutoCAD.
·  Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Preferred Qualification

·  5 years of professional experience related to the engineering and design of piping systems, equipment or pressure vessels.
·  Familiarity with ASME B&PVC, B31.1, or B31.3.

At least one of the following:

·  Previous experience with pipe stress analysis software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, PIPESTRESS, or similar
·  Previous experience with pressure vessel design software such as COMPRESS, PVElite, or similar
·  Previous experience with structural analysis software such as GT STRUDL, STAAD, SAP2000, or similar.
·  Previous experience with finite element analysis using ANSYS, Abaqus or similar.
·  Experience with SmartPlant 3D or similar.
·  Licensed Professional Engineer.
