Payroll Manager - North America

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to head up the North American payroll for Technip Energies. The Payroll Manager is responsible for the execution of payroll activities within Oracle GEOS. You will ensure that payroll processing, financial and governmental reporting is compliant.

The Onshore division utilizes our engineering capabilities to deliver solutions related to gas monetization, refining, petrochemicals and onshore pipelines, making us a global leader for midstream and downstream facilities.
Our strategic focus is to establish TechnipFMC as the reference contractor for oil and gas integrated solutions by focusing on 3 key areas:

• Portfolio selectivity and diversification
• Leverage our well-established LNG leadership
• Investment in Process Technologies and industrial services

Job description

• Processes biweekly payrolls and supplemental payrolls, off-cycle manual checks and replacement checks.
• Performs and supervises all activities necessary to process 1 or more payrolls, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports, voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for senior management.
• Supervises or leads a team of 1 or 2 Payroll Practitioners or assistants. This is typically a 'working supervisor' who spends more than 50% of time personally performing payroll processing and related activities.
• Acts as liaison between the payroll department and Information Systems, HR, Finance and Treasury to ensure payroll staff understands and implements required system revisions and processes.
• Answer paycheck questions from employees and is a SME for HRBPs and COEs.
• Ensures compliance with Company’s internal controls and policies and procedures.
• Maintaining related records and reports and prepare ad hoc reports for management; in response to audit and in support of day to day requests.
• Assist with defining standard operating procedures and continuous improvement opportunities for the group.
• Assist with year-end payroll processes: company specific activities, compliance activities, year-audits, W-2 audits, W-2 processing and distribution.
• Review, interpret and maintain and respond to garnishments, levies and child support orders in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.
• Review, audit, reconcile and correct/update payroll prior to transmission to ensure proper pay calculations, tax calculations, and general ledger/treasury processes are performed completely, accurately and in compliance with company policy, federal, state and local regulations
• Responsible for the setup and closure of tax jurisdictions, as needed as well as researching, responding and resolving payroll tax notices.
• Coordinate with International mobility team in setting up Inpat and Expat allowances in the payroll system as well as coordinating year-end data to external tax consultants for 1040 and Tax Equalization preparation.
• Work with Benefits to ensure that changes are implemented as plans change and ensure data from benefit vendors is accurately flowing to the payroll system and to W2’s.
• Work with HRIS/IT on data import issues to help resolve and correct ADP.

You are meant for this job if

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study from an accredited university required
• Multi-state payroll processing
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
• Must be knowledgeable of all US federal and state tax laws as related to payroll administration
• Forward-thinker with strong customer service focus
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strategic problem solving ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Expat payroll processing experience a plus
• Minimum of 5 years experience in ADP Payforce.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
• Experience with Oracle and SAP
• Experience with ADP Back Office (full cycle in house processing)
• Experience with automated file feeds
• 25% Travel Required
•Payroll System implementation
