Job Purpose:

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that materials selection, corrosion protection and manufacturing is performed in line with contractual requirements, industry standards and good engineering practice for Subsea Production Systems and Pipelines projects in Europe and Africa

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Main accountabilities

- Perform role as materials engineer in studies and project execution for subsea production systems and pipelines.

- Perform materials selection on system level and ensure implementation in products

- Design Cathodic Protection System

- Write technical specifications for procurement

- Follow up sub-supplier manufacturing

- Participate in customer clarification meetings in tender and project execution

- Act as advisor to projects within own field of expertise (cathodic protection, coating, insulation or metallic materials and welding)

- Perform technical supplier audits

Profile requirements:

Main requirements

- BSc/MSc/PhD in materials engineering, electrochemistry or similar

- 0 -4 years of experience as discipline engineer in project execution

- Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: Electrochemistry / Cathodic Protection, metallic materials and welding, corrosion coatings, polymeric materials

- Fluency in English, written and oral

- Proactive - ability to seek information from other disciplines and project members is essential to perform well in role

- High integrity

- A team player with a solution oriented mindset

- Willingness to travel

Additional requirements

- Oil and gas experience is an asset

- Knowledge about industry standards, such as DNVGL-OS-F101, ISO 13628, NORSOK M-001
