Job description

As the Maintenance Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the revenue generating assets, which include state-of-the-art membrane coating equipment, continuous web handling lines, extruders, automated packaging lines, and various other manufacturing equipment and support systems. This will require knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, shop mathematics, and troubleshooting equipment utilizing PLC, relay, and control circuits.This shift is for 12-hour rotating nights, working 6 PM - 6 AM. This shift pays an additional $2.00 hour shift differential for a 12 hour shift and an additional $1.00 hr for the night shift ($3.00 total over hourly wage.) Essential Responsibilities: • You will also be responsible for fabricating, machining, modifying or welding components and parts.• Observe and comply with all OSHA and company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, including housekeeping practices and participation in EHS meetings, investigations, and audits• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance requirements by following job plans, diagrams / schematics, manufacturer recommendations, and engineering specifications; help identify and implement reliability improvements• Complete work orders and document findings, actions and feedback• Identify sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listen for problems using precision measuring and testing instruments• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; use hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools and examine form and texture of parts• Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments• Adjust functional parts or devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges• Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed• Perform troubleshooting on PLC (Programmable Logic Control), ladder logic, and control circuits• Evaluate processes and make recommendations for improvements• Provide assistance and training to other maintenance and department personnel as directed• Perform any additional duties as assigned by manager and facilitatorAdditional Notes
Work Monday, Thursday, Friday one week (36 hours). Then the opposite Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday the following week (48 hours). Built in overtime (pay at 1.5x) every other week.
