Job Purpose

We are currently seeking a high energy, self-motivated and dedicated Lead Commercial Engineer with proven track record, to develop and deliver world class proposals at Suez Water Technologies & Solutions to the customers, negotiate with customers and secure profitable orders. This position is a new opening and will be based in Korea.

Primary Responsibilities:

His or her role will be to lead and own all activities required to put together bid proposals including both commercial and technical parts for water treatment systems in reaction to customer's Request for Quotation (the “RFQ”), leading the teams from various functions to negotiate with customer and finalize the contract as well as hand over of the customer contract to the Project Delivery Team. Technically, he or she will include co-ordination with the discipline engineers, including process, mechanical & electrical. Commercially, he or she will coordinate with the Sales, Sourcing, Finance, PSI and Legal functions on matters relating to costing, pricing and contract details including Terms & Conditions. He or she will be responsible for ensuring the proposal is submitted on time, costs are well captured, prices are approved with risk properly reviewed and mitigated with the defined risk processes strictly followed.

The successful candidate will also need to have a solid understanding and track record of working on complex scope and/or self-implement deals with site install (mechanical/electrical).

Candidates shall have strong broad-based technical capability in Water treatment to integrate multiple unit process operations together, an excellent appreciation of contract terms and be able to negotiate technical and commercial terms with customers.Strong leadership and communication, and English language skills are essential as the Commercial Engineer will be working with diverse and geographically scattered teams within the global Suez Water Technologies and Solutions (SWTS) Business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

· 
Develop winning bidding strategies and partner with the Sales team to close profitable orders for the SWTS business.

· 
Working closely with the process engineers to optimize the process and performance for both water & wastewater treatment systems

· 
Working with Sourcing and other functions to develop equipment design that meets the local market conditions in terms of cost and materials availability as well as performance and specifications.

· 
Interface with customers and Create CAPEX, OPEX cost estimate of systems, participate in site surveys, attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings as required.

· 
Demonstrate knowledge of the market for equipment and services offered, and knowledge of our competition, to help position our technical and commercial offer to win business.

· 
Demonstrate the ability to clearly visualize, optimize and document value proposition in the bid proposal.

· 
Review customer RFQ's, specifications, and drawings.

· 
Mobilize internal functions and develop bid proposals for water and waste treatment projects.

· 
Lead the proposal team to ensure the quality proposals are delivered within the designated time.

· 
Leading the preparation of the bid proposals and integrating the input from Legal, Risk, EHS and Finance to structure the commercial offer.

· 
Lead contract negotiations with customers together with Sales and the other teams within SWTS;

· 
Maintaining the process of the business to mitigate risk and verify a proposal and negotiated contract is within Delegation of Authority (DOA).

· 
Maintaining the tools (COMPASS, etc) are always updated and then reporting data accurately and on time;

· 
Lead the teams involved to hand over the contract to the project execution team;

Qualifications Required:

· 
Bachelor of Engineering.

· 
Minimum requirements are 8 years of water industry experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience in putting together proposals and detail design for RO/ED/UF/MBRprojects involving multiple unit processes. Candidates with higher experience will also be considered suitably.

· 
Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced environment and prioritizing to meet business objectives.

· 
Willing to travel domestically and internationally.

· 
Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Desired:

· 
Understanding of Water and Wastewater Treatment Equipment & Processes for Pre/Post treatment (Conventional equipment, MF/UF RO, EDR, EDI, IX, MBR) and the ability to incorporate new types of technologies into designs.

· 
Proficient in contract terms review and negotiations to close orders.

· 
Ability to manage multiple projects; prioritize workload, and delegate tasks to other commercial engineers as needed.

· 
Ability to speak effectively before groups and customers, clients, and other employees of organization

· 
Self-motivated, ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, while demonstrating significant problem-solving ability with an unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments

· 
Technical writing skills and computer proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Schedule.
