Technical-Marketing Internship – GBU Soda Ash(minimum 6 months)

Job description

Within the Global Business Unit (GBU) Soda Ash & Derivatives, the Global Bicarbonate & Derivatives addresses currently four main markets (flue gas treatment, pharma, food and feed) which account together for 70% of the addressable market. Other minor applications include Oil&Gas, Detergents.

Solvay serves today these markets with application-driven products, mainly: Bicarbonate, Trona, Sulfites. Other minor products include calcium chloride and pharmaceutical sodium bicarbonate.

The Bicar & Derivatives BU targeting 50% EBITDA growth over the period driven by organic growth, innovation and operational excellence.

In this context, the BU is looking to expand in new products/services and new markets through his business development department.

To support our team we are today seeking for a trainee, whom main missions will be to contribute to technical-marketing and business development analysis linked with environment, by

· Understanding the competitive technologies. Technical & economical advantages and disadvantages and main cost structure (investment, product price, …)

· Collecting data/phone calls (Regulation, internet, specialized materials, …) to refine the market studies.

· Supporting in the analysis of Solvay competitive positioning.

· Support the Business development team for communication materials and technical marketing analysis

Desired profile

·  Master Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Pharmaceutic.
·  Master Degree in marketing or Business Administration with a strong technical background in chemistry.
·  Very good English level (written & spoken). Other European language as German, Spanish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian or Polish is a plus
·  Curious, open minded, rigorous, team worker, autonomy, sense of initiative & good interpersonal skills
