Production Operator

Job description

Responsible, under the direction of Production Manager, for manufacturing product, receiving raw materials, shipping product, adhere to all aspects of the HS&E program, maintain all required records, participate in housekeeping activities, and load/unload trucks at the Shreveport, LA site.

This position is a permanent position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform critical tasks including, chemical blending with reaction process.
· From control room produce batches and transfer raw material/ finish goods to storage tanks, loading/unloading tank trucks using the plants automated system.
· Perform SAP Transactions and data entry with Inventory management.
· As required serve as backup lead operator.
· Operate forklift, load/unload package and bulk trucks.
· Operate the automated tote filler.
· Participate in housekeeping activities.
· Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· Must be able to comply with all Solvay safety rules and company policies.
· Participate in the Incident Investigation process and near miss reporting.
· Be available to support plant activities by working weekends or holidays when required.
· Possess good oral and written communication skills.
· Basic computer skills.
· Complete assigned tasks as issued by the Lead Operator, Production Manager or Facility Manager.
· Be a team player who can interface well with all employees.
· Participate in the annual employee performance assessments.
· Complete General Safe Work Permit for maintenance work orders.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
·  HS degree or higher education level, previous oil field or chemical related industry preferred.
·  Good written and oral communication skills.
·  Be able to follow directions.
·  Good personal skills.
·  Ability to work well with all levels.
