Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The Sulfone production unit has an immediate opening for a floor operator:

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES :

· 
Take readings on equipment as required, monitor the process and equipment for proper operations, take samples as needed, and react to emergency conditions.

· 
Perform all manual loading and unloading of materials or equipment as required.

· 
Set up all hand valves and process equipment as required for any and all operations.

· 
Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting as required on process equipment.

· 
Responding to nonstandard conditions as appropriate.

· 
Practice and participate safety training and/or meetings, safely perform all activities required to successfully operate the plant and take responsibility for personal safety of others.

· 
Must be certifiable on fork truck operation and other industrial lifting equipment.

· 
All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

EDUCATION :

Must possess a high school or equivalent (GED).

WORK EXPERIENCE :

Entry-level position, chemical operations experience preferred.

Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS :

· 
Must have successfully completed the Work Keys Skills Assessment for the Sulfone Floor Operator profile.

· 
Ability to clear, isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance work.

· 
An internal candidate should demonstrate knowledge of our safety standards.An external candidate should be capable of understanding and complying with safety standards.

· 
Capable of working with computers and computerized controllers.

· 
Candidate required to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

· 
Candidate must be able to work rotating shift work.

· 
Must be willing and able to be a member of the fire brigade.

· 
Must be capable of wearing a respirator.

· 
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

· 
Must show attention to detail/ability to accurately complete paperwork.

· 
Gives clear and to-the-point oral communications to supervision and to coworkers.

· 
Have a high level of mechanical aptitude.

· 
Needs to learn tasks quickly and fully.

· 
Have knowledge of the definitions of basic chemical plant terms.

· 
Have knowledge of isolating equipment in a manufacturing environment.

· 
Demonstrated ability to work in team environment without direct on-site supervision.

· 
Demonstrated commitment to safety.

· 
Must have demonstrated a high level of initiative and a strong motivation to learn new things.

· 
Must be able to work at elevated levels.

· 
Must be willing and able to work overtime.

Must be willing to be flexible to changing work priorities and tasks.

HSE REQUIREMENTS :

· 
Perform required safety audits per the Augusta Plant yearly audit plan.

· 
Attend plant-wide safety/wellness sessions.

· 
Review/perform required safety audits, JSA’s and What-if scenarios.

· 
Complete all required CBTs on time.

· 
Participate in PSM, PHA, and PSSR field reviews, as well as Follow-Up Incident investigations as needed.

· 
Maintain a working knowledge of all plant environmental standards, ES-01 through ES-10.

· 
Know the environmental permit limits for your assigned plant (air, waste water, storm water).

· 
Maintain a working knowledge of the Hazardous Waste Rules (RCRA) to include storage, handling, sampling, transporting, manifesting, record keeping, and emergency response.

· 
Maintain a working knowledge of the facility environmental plans (SPCC, Storm Water Pollution Prevention).
