Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Customs & Trade Compliance organization, part of SBS Customer Credit & Trade Service Line, operates mainly in 4 different areas: Customs Classification, Origin & Trade Preference, Import/Export and Trade Control. Its main mission is to provide expertise and advice to the Global Business Units (GBUs) and guarantee the right level of compliance for the Group. 

Customs & Trade Compliance organization must also adapt itself to the ever evolving regulatory environment and share that evolution with the GBUs, make sure that processes are under control, and identify potential savings opportunities.

Customs & Trade Compliance is a worldwide organization deployed through a network of experts located in various countries in the different zones.

In the context of a replacement and to strengthen our customs team, we are looking for candidates for the position described below .

Origin & Free Trade Agreements : 
Be able to determine preferential and non-preferential origin of products manufactured by the group for all North American  Free Trade Agreements (FTA). 
Understand and be able to apply the rules of the Origin Determination in compliance with all FTAs. 
Work with the worldwide process expert to establish or modify existing procedures. 

Import :
Be able to support to the GBUs to build import flows and to perform customs formalities
Provide trade reports, advice and support to the GBUs to identify savings
Be able to work with other CTC members to support the GBUs to benefit from duty refunds programs
Create and/or improve import procedures

Develop and deliver training within the Group related to country of origin, FTA, imports procedures, record keeping, special trade programs and other government agency requirements.
Create and update procedures and work instructions to reflect current practices and to make improvements.
Be the back-up of other CTC team members, especially on customs classification and export compliance activities

Education and Experience:

A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience with international trade compliance regulations particularly in tasks related to FTA and Import/Export.
Licensed Customs Broker preferred. 

Skills:

Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office applications (esp. Excel) and Google apps.
SAP GTS knowledge and experience in the chemical industry are a plus.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and able to follow procedures as well as modify or develop new procedures. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Also, interact with internal/external customers and colleagues, brokers, freight forwarders, and other functional areas to ensure coordination and legal compliance of shipments
