Job description

Novecare develops leading edge technologies that affect the behavior of fluids to give them cleansing, softening, moisturizing, hydrating, gelling, texturizing, penetrating or dispersing properties. Its products are found in shampoos, detergents, paints, lubricants, plant protection, mining and oil extraction.

Co-Op Engineer
Opportunity for an ambitious college student studying Mechanical or Chemical Engineering to gain hands on experience while attending college. Full-time (typically 8am-4:30pm) during rotating semesters during the year. Will report to Technical Manager and be mentored by experienced Process and Project engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core responsibilities will be maintenance of engineering records.
This includes "Red Lining" P&ID's and specification sheets
Supporting staff engineers in updating documentation
Maintenance of TLE files and coordinating drawing revisions.
Each term the student will be assigned two or more developmental projects appropriate to their current education attainment.

QHSSE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow safety rules and maintain lab housekeeping standards
Conform to site PPE requirements
Support site specific behavioral safety process by conducting observations and participating in other WISE sponsored activities
Report all safety incidents and near misses, and participate in investigations as needed.
Represent Solvay, USA through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
Responsible to maintain a quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 9001 2015 standard.
Focus efforts in four areas which include Safety, Customer Focus, Excellence and Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCES:
Mechanical or Chemical Engineering student
Currently enrolled in an accredited/ certified Engineering School
Must have completed at least one year of college
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office and ability to quickly learn new software applications
Reliable and conscientious individual that is self-motivated/driven
