Responsibilities

Leveraged Capital Markets is the newly-merged team which incorporates SG's Leveraged Loan Syndicate and High Yield Capital Markets team in Europe
• The European Leveraged Loan Syndicate team is responsible for the underwriting and syndication of non-investment grade loans and private subordinated debt across the EMEA region. The team works closely with origination business lines (for Telecoms & Media clients as well as Private Equity Sponsors), as well as partnering with other syndicate teams in US and Asia
• The High Yield Capital Markets (HYCM) team is responsible for addressing borrowers' needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the public debt capital markets. The HYCM team deals exclusively with non-investment grade credits, mostly for corporate entities and including leveraged buy-outs for sponsor clients. The team works closely with coverage business lines, sector financing teams and the LBO business.
• Junior staff (VIE, Analysts and Associates) are pooled across the two teams to maximise experience and skills and for efficient staffing

During your VIE your missions will be:

1. To support the team's efforts to develop into the primary contact within the bank for leveraged loan and high yield origination/distribution solutions via the analysis of transactions/opportunities provided by the various Business Lines
• Support the Team Head and senior colleagues in providing analysis to enable the structuring of proposals and pitching clients (eg. comps, market data and analysis, pitch preparation)
• Regular and accurate maintenance of transaction comparables database
• Preparation of weekly market update materials for internal and external use
• Preparation of the relevant sections for client pitches
• Coordinate with Bond Syndicate on HY deals

2. To draft underwriting/syndication memos in support of credit processes
• Draft underwriting memo in consultation with senior colleague, with responsibility for accurate data and analysis

3. To contribute to executing the marketing and de-risking strategy for the syndication of transactions
• Review / involvement in the preparation of marketing materials (IM, teaser, lender presentation, Bond OM drafting, rating presentation, roadshow materials), involving close cooperation with Business Lines teams
• On HY transactions, carry out due diligence alongside internal banks and senior originators
• Undertake all compliance requirements including managing insider lists, KYC processes, wall crossing procedures, all in line with regulatory / legal requirements and internal policies
• Coordinate with fellow bookrunners during the process including syndication Q&A
• Provide analysis during syndication/roadshow to aid assessment of de-risking: flex analysis, fees, allocations (loan side) and tracking orderbook and pricing discussions with client (bond side)

4. To help coordinate efficiently LCM AMER for crossborder opportunities
• Build strong working relationships with junior counterparts in those teams

5. To manage reporting requirements, including pipeline, permanent supervision controls, etc.
• Take charge of reporting requirements (Financing Platform, GILT, BCI) and PS files in a timely and accurate manner

Profile Required

Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering school or University, majoring in Finance.

You are fluent in English.

You are proficient in Office application.

You have a good knowledge of syndicated loan and/or high yield markets

You have a previous experience in credit analysis and legal documentation
Responsibility – capacity to understand and manage risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for SYN, GLBA, and SG Group, and act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France's eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
