Description of Business Line:
The Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) department has worldwide responsibility for supplying Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) with all the technology and operations resources necessary for them to function under competitive conditions in terms of technological standards, service quality, and cost.
The GBSU technology division is responsible for back-office systems development globally, which supports front-office trading activity in North America, Europe, and Asia. Our group provides regulatory reporting: tools, engines, and other applications necessary for successful post-trade reporting. Teams in our group are located all over the globe and support the rapidly growing business with a combination of in-house and vendor systems
Part of a global setup for regulatory reporting activities; the financial regulatory team develops on a common platform, with applications deployed in Paris, London, Chicago, New York, Montreal, Bangalore, and Madrid. The team has recently moved towards Agile and continuous delivery methodologies (Kanban) and tools (Jira / Wekan / Impulse / Sonar / Jenkins).
The GBSU/FRM/LTA (financial regulatory reporting) department is primarily engaged to provide IT solutions for MARK / DFIN / RISQ business line clients internally.
The responsibilities of this department include:
• Developing and maintaining an internal business facing application/schema
• Developing and maintaining MARK reports used for their client profitability metrics
• Developing and maintaining DFIN reports used for their RWA & EAD calculations
• Developing and maintaining DFIN reports used for their RWA & EAD calculations
• Developing and maintaining RISQ reports used for their RWA calculations
• Working with the downstream liquidity team to support their data-model as an upstream data provider
Summary of the Key Purposes of the Role:
The AMER team requires a business analyst to supplement the existing team. The main role of this resource will be to work on Fin_REG; the financial regulatory schema built to support our reporting capabilities (Capital & Liquidity) which provides consistent data across asset classes and regions. Main tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Understand user expectations and develop functional & technical requirements
• Raise clarifications with stakeholders as-needed
• Train developers on functional concepts and resolve functional problems faced.
• Act as SPOC for business requirements and represent the end user in the development team.
• Lead and conduct functional testing, thereby being responsible for the quality assurance of product release before user acceptance.
• Encourage best practices and apply them within the team - responsible for functional product quality.
• Understand Agile practices (daily scrum, iteration planning, retrospective, test driven, model storming) and follow the same practices.
• Set priority on work product as per the agreed iteration goals.
• Work effectively with other team members by sharing best practices.

Profile Required

Technical skills required:

• Clear understanding of Software Development life cycle and process Oriented

• Strong fundamentals in Investment Banking and Capital markets

• Knowledge in compliance or regulatory projects is a big plus.

• Knowledge of end to end flow between FO-MO-BO

• Exposure to Agile methodology with requirement capturing using use cases and feature driven methods.

• Experience identifying and executing test strategies, test plans and functional test cases.

• Experience in preparing and conducting functional reviews and training sessions.

• Experience with Oracle PL/SQL is a must.

• Capability to work with internal customers and cross location teams to establish and maintain a consistent delivery.

• Ability to work closely in a team environment is a must.

• Experience with JIRA

• Experience coordinating change releases with virtual teams

• Documentation and preparation of specification documents for projects and features work on (data-flow diagrams, process flows, etc.)

Desired/ Plus:

• Business Objects knowledge is a plus

• Impulse knowledge is a plus

• SCRUM certification is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's degree or Higher in Computer science or related field

Languages :

• English

Societe Generale opened its Canadian headquarters in Montreal in 1974 to offer its financial services to corporations, financial institutions and governments. The Toronto and Calgary offices were opened in 1978 and 2006 respectively.
