Description of the Business Line or Department
Join for a VIE Société Générale Global Banking and Investor Solutions (GBIS) in London.
You will integrate our MARK department and more precisely the FX Engineering team in London.
You will work in the MARK/ENG department. As a Front Office developer the VIE will sit on the trading floor with the engineers in order to help them in their day to day jobs and grow their business.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
Strategic and tactical tool development (Front to back) for the FX structuring desk (VBA, Python, SQL and noSQL).
Address any needs at a business analysis, software design and development level that involve rapid intervention with strong development capabilities.
The developer will help building tools for back-testing of strategies, pricing automations and data analysis, as a goal to generate trade ideas and better serve our clients.
As an engineer, part of the structuring desk, the candidate will be part of the desk activity by providing prices on optional strategies, computing xVA metrics, and others.
Summary of responsibilities
Automation of processes, Analysis and re-design of old processes, Development of new tools
Development of automised pricing tools, backtesting tools for ingineers, sales and traders
Cooperation between the different services and activities of the bank (Corporate, Retails, Institutionals …)
Maintenance, Support and Formation on the various existing tools
Interaction with trading, the different engineers, and sales to be able to understand the need and create the adequate tool for it.
Participation in the engineering desk activity: pricing of various optional structures, involvement in the product push.
Front to back development of strategic and tactical application (VBA, Python, SQL, noSQL …)
Management of the full development lifecycle autonomously, in an agile environment
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
Your profile
Graduate with a Master degree from Business school, University or Engineering School.
A previous experience in Investment Banking would be appreciated.
You are fluent in English.
You are proficient in Office application
Object oriented development, preferably VBA/Python (knowledge of C/C# is a plus)
Good quantitative background, the candidates will work directly with financial engineers and need to be able to pick-up concepts rapidly.
Capable of managing own workload, while providing regular feedback to management.
Front-Office or RAD experience would be a plus.
Focus on delivering value to the business with relentless efforts to improve process.
Good Knowledge of Financial Mathematics
Knowledge of FX Product Range, CVA and FVA concepts is a plus
Knowledge of main valuation models, main risk factors, and main orders of magnitude in risks
Quickness and responsiveness / Ability to work under pressure
Good aptitude for working in team
High level of rigour and critical thinking
