Job description



Responsibilities

As part of the Finance Second Level Control team, the Financial Controller will have the opportunity to use his/her skills to participate in rigorous reviews and assessments of Société Générale Americas' financial and regulatory control framework.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Participating in reviews of controls over financial and regulatory reporting.

• Designing testing plans on high risk processes and or areas.

• Validating the flow of transactions from the point of origin to the final reporting.

• Analyzing and quantifying the impact of identified findings on the regulatory reporting and the financial statements.

• Preparing and presenting areas of improvement to senior management and responsible business units.

• Developing strong partnerships with multiple teams in the organization, such as Liquidity, Regulatory Reporting, and Technology.

• Being a subject matter expert in terms of internal control, accounting, and regulatory risk.

• Staying up to date on emerging GAAP, IFRS, and liquidity regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the firm's policies and control framework.

Profile Required

Qualifications:

Good understanding of audit techniques (risk approach, substantive testing, high view analysis…).

Financial Products knowledge.

Understanding of accounting treatment of financial products.

Experience Needed:

Approximately 2-3 years of experience working in the financial sector in a similar capacity.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Advanced degree or CPA a plus.

Languages:

English and French speaking and writting.
