Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

The ETF Capital Markets Specialist will be expected to proactively grow business and manage relationships with sell-side ETF Sales & Trading desks (Brokers, Market Makers, Banks) and buy-side dealing desks in UK& Ireland.

The specialist will be expected to act as a Product and Trading specialist providing education and insight into ETF trading to investors in UK & Ireland (with the support of dedicated Lyxor teams).

The specialist will be expected to participate fully in the day-to-day duties of the team. e.g. responding to Authorised Participants' requests, interaction with trading venues and data providers etc.

Main Responsibilities

· 
Develop and maintain relationships with sell-side trading firms to enhance the liquidity, visibility and distribution of Lyxor ETFs

· 
Work with liquidity providers and brokers to ensure efficient trading of Lyxor ETFs both on-exchange and over-the-counter (OTC)

· 
Interact with sell-side trading firms to identify the origin of traded flows

· 
In partnership with other Capital Markets staff, design and execute strategy to secure new and replenish outstanding product seed

· 
Provide the sell-side community and buy-side dealing desks with regular updates and insights on the Lyxor range

· 
Educate investors on ETF trading and execution and provide insight on relevant developments across the industry (via one-to-one meetings, panel-events, client roadshows etc.)

· 
Answer day-to-day investor queries (either directly or via local Sales teams)

· 
Travel to visit sell-side trading firms and buy-side dealing desks across UK & Ireland

· 
Manage relationships with external firms including trading venues and data providers when required

· 
Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of regulation relevant to capital markets topics

On a daily basis, the specialist will be expected to help the other members of the team in:

Handling primary market related requests from Authorised Participants and market makers trading Lyxor ETFs

· 
Overseeing day-to-day Primary Market trading activity

· 
Monitoring real-time Secondary Market flows; both on exchange and over the counter (OTC)

Profile Required

Competencies


An ETF capital markets specialist at Lyxor ETF combines strong technical skills (product and capital markets) and client management skills to promote the complete ETF product range to professional clients and partners.

The specialist's mandate is to:

(1) comply with any regulation applicable to the activity, including MIFID specifications, Sales handbook and Business principles of SG Corporate and Investment Banking
(2) gain extensive intelligence on his/her markets and comprehensive knowledge of the products dealt with
(3) gain extensive intelligence of his/her clients' legal and tax environment
(4) assess clients' and broker needs
(5) canvass for new clients and partners
(6) advise them on potential risk issues

(7) handle and follow up all client transactions

(8) educate internal and external stakeholders

Strong presentation skills are required. The specialist needs to be a polished public speaker able to present technical information at major client and industry events.

Advanced knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income and Commodities is desirable.
