Siemens Logistics LLC is experiencing growth in our Manufacturing operations at our DFW Airport (Irving) location. We are searching for qualified Sheet Metal / Fabrication Workers to fill immediate full time positions with access to a comprehensive Benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and more.

SUMMARY: Tends Metal Fabrication equipment such as CNC Plasma, band saw, press brake, and punch, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operates Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

• Fully analyzes all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches in order to fabricate and install desired product or part. Is able to detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels.

• Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.

• Positions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.

• Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.

• Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

• Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.

• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.

• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.

• Sets up and performs maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and performs burning work.

• Utilizes cranes and other lifting equipment to load, unload, and transport materials between operations.

• Operates any equipment needed to perform job.

• Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
