The Machine & Clinical Intelligence Research Group of Siemens Healthcare Technology Center has an internship opening in Princeton, NJ, with a focus on natural language processing (NLP) for healthcare applications. Our Princeton facility is recognized for providing a stimulating environment for highly talented and self-motivated students. Driven by a strong culture of innovation, we have a record of developing cutting edge technologies and excel in translating academic research into advanced Siemens products. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and conferences. We are located ten minutes from the Princeton University campus, one hour from New York City and Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:

Investigate state-of the art methods for transfer learning for text summarization

Adapt and implement the best/state-of-the-art method for transfer learning for text summarization in the context of Radiology Reports

Provide source codes and generate manuscript for transfer learning for Radiology Report summarization

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

·  Masters (2nd year) or PhD in computer science or related discipline
·  demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of machine learning and NLP through successful completion of moderately complex assignments
·  familiar with fundamental concepts, practices, and principles of software development, version control, and scalable infrastructure/platforms
·  demonstrates strong hands-on experience in programming (Python, Java)
·  provides track record of publications & presentations at top-tier conferences/competitions
·  able to work well as individual contributor and within a multidisciplinary team
·  familiarity and experience with deep learning packages e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch
·  Must have a minimum 3.2 GPA or higher

Start Date of April or May 2020. Duration of the internship 3 months.
