Repair Center Technician – Tooling Machine Spindles

Position Overview

Siemens Weiss Spindle Service in the Mentor, OH, facility is looking for a Repair Technician in our development and manufacturing of high-precision motor spindle units. Do you have a mechanical background and have a passion for rebuilding things?

This group will supply a full range of standardized and individual spindle solutions. Service is a top priority at Weiss and we’re hiring technicians for our US repair center!

Responsibilities:

Perform initial inspections on incoming spindle units

Disassemble, Assemble and clean machine tool spindles

Test Run and commission of spindle units utilizing Siemens 611 & S120 drives

Oscilloscope to set up encoder systems

Electrical set up of analog and proximity sensors

Utilization of Vibration Measuring Equipment to balance repaired product

The successful candidate will need to bring the following skills/abilities:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience with electric motors

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching

May require lifting to 75 pounds

Ability to read mechanical drawings

Basic Hands on electrical and mechanical skills

General Computer Knowledge

Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

Excellent time leadership skills, the ability to prioritize and lead numerous projects

Proactive to work productively, efficiently and prioritize duties

Work Overtime as needed
