As our Project Purchasing Specialist, you will integrate Purchasing in the project teams from kickoff to project delivery. This individual will prioritize, control, and monitor all Purchasing activities in a project(s) and introduce purchasing strategies targeting maximum contribution to the operating result. This position will work with our project management, engineering, Strategic procurement, and production teams to support various projects. This position will support our larger team from our facility in Louisville, KY.
Responsibilities
·  Supporting planning, execution and communication of project purchasing plan for End to End purchasing/supply chain processes
·  Support entire supply chain from ordering phase to product delivery and warranty returns.
·  Ensures that all material and services meet project delivery requirements
·  Identifies and guides supply base risk, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage / exploit potential opportunities; solves project specific challenges.
·  Performs purchasing/SCM activities in alignment with Strategic procurement, Supplier quality management and project management prioritization and requirement.
·  Defines, tracks and reports on scheduling, risk, change, opportunities, and resource management
·  Ensures that the project scope and terms are addressed in the Purchase orders
·  Supports contractual and price negotiations in collaboration with Project Procurement Managers.
·  Excellent negotiation skills with both internal and external suppliers to drive project performance
·  Track the vendor's progress against the original and/or revised schedule
·  Well organized to support changing priorities and project schedules
·  Excellent SAP Skills to support Purchase 2 Pay process, MRP runs, Inventory Management, Expedite reporting Purchasing/Inventory analysis for process improvements
·  Excellent skill with excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, formulas, charts, etc…)
·  Responsible for collecting/analyzing data and applying problem solving techniques (5 why, PDCS, Pareto etc..) to support process improvement
·  Responsible for effectively communicating with cross-functional team members on project status and SCM tasks
·  Experience with Lean methodology in identifying and reducing or eliminating waste from process
·  Responsible for inventory analysis & management to improve inventory turns
·  Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
·  Take ownership of the supplier account and execute process improvement to build value for Siemens and end customer.
·  Knowledge of incoterms and its impact on cost and risk to the project
·  Review and target supplier delivery improvements & late order resolution.
·  Works in conjunction with Strategic procurement, supplier quality and Logistics for improving total cost of ownership of products/services
·  Assists Strategic procurement team in executing Commodity strategies at tactical level Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience
·  3-4+ years meaningful work experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or relevant area of expertise
·  Education: Bachelor’s
·  Strong SAP knowledge MM/PS module Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience
·  BS/BA in Supply chain, Engineering, or relevant area of expertise
·  Professional certification (APICS, ISM, PMI etc.)
