To support the growth and advancement of our product technology, we are seeking to appoint to the position of Product Requirement Engineer for the Siemens’ market leading inspection data management system software: Process Safety Asset Integrity Manager™ (PSAIM™). The position will be based in Houston, Texas.

The PSAIM™ Product Requirement Engineer function will work with product’s stakeholders and end users to elicit, understand, analyze, document, and communicate the requirements for a system in order to solve a given business problem.  This function will be responsible to develop PSAIM™ software requirements in alignment with Product Manager to meet product roadmap objectives. Lead the interface with product team during development phase to share knowledge and represent the voice of the customer.  Work with domain knowledge to study requirement information needs, deliberate with users, study systems flow, data usage, work processes, and investigating problem areas.

The Software Product Manager will report to the Head of Technology and Consulting within the Siemens Process and Safety Consulting business.

Responsibilities

· 
Executes the software product new and improved functionalities operational feasibility and requirement development by defining, evaluating, analyzing the problem and developing clear and precise solution requirements.

· 
Documents and demonstrates software product new and improved functionalities by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, and code comments.

· 
Improves requirement development operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.

· 
Masters the product’s area of application including engineering calculations (e.g., relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices), workflows, functionalities, deployment and installation processes and requirements.

· 
Develops and communicates knowledge management documents that will be used through requirements development, code development, testing, and maintenance.

· 
Plays the customer role during the requirements engineering and development activities regarding domain knowledge and support decisions and priority of the requirement.

· 
Reviews non-functional requirements, e.g., transaction time, security, ease of use, levels of confidentiality, availability, reliability, developed by product technology team to ensure alignment with product use case and customer expectations.

· 
Provides adequate and timely status information of new or improved requirement to Product Manager.  Supports Product Manager to maintain current and prioritized product enhancement and/or maintenance backlog.

· 
Drives the development and execution of requirements, feature review, and support software development and acceptance testing to ensure delivery of quality solution to the market.

· 
Supports development of test, verification, and validation cases, and product acceptance reviews.

· 
Manages change to ensure traceability and clarity through requirement development phase.

· 
Develops and refines the content of the software product release notes, help manuals, user guidance, use cases while collaborating with the Product Manager.

· 
Supports operations phase of the product including development of software standard demo scenarios, training, support and maintenance processes, and support ticket resolution and communication.

· 
Coordinates with Product Manager and Development Project Manager for product requirements predevelopment cost and schedule estimates.

 Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· 
BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

· 
8+ years of experience in Mechanical Integrity (MI) related domain in the process industries of Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, and Chemicals.

· 
Experience in the following MI areas is required:

· 
 Applications of MI concepts and tools, e.g., RBI, RCM, FFS, IOW, etc.

· 
 RBI methodologies, e.g., API RP 580, API RP 581, and practical application

· 
Development and implementation of IDMS and ITPM programs

· 
Operation of pressure equipment and management of ageing assets

· 
In service degradation of materials and corrosion assessment

· 
 Asset inspection relevant industry design codes and standards, e.g., ASME, API, CCPS

· 
5+ years of experience in a Software Requirements Development.

· 
Exposure with the following software is desirable: PSAIM, UltraPIPE, API RBI, RiskWISE and/or Capstone RBMI, Meridium Corrosion and Inspection Manager.

· 
Understanding and awareness of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process.

· 
Demonstrated adaptability and accountability to achieve business goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

· 
Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and influencing skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong productive relationships.

· 
Excellent oral/written communication and listening skills will be necessary to present information, analysis and recommendations to all levels of employees, including management, product development, and customers.

· 
Able to travel up to 25% of the time.

·
