Mechanical Engineer

Houston, TX

Position Overview

This person will be responsible to help ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of large gas turbine field service maintenance outages. This group serves the unique role of working with both design and process engineering as well as having the chance to go out into the field from time-to-time and be more hands on. 

Responsibilities

· 
Responsible for developing and improving processes to improve safety, quality, and schedule of large gas turbine outages.

· 
Responsible for seeking and implementing cost savings projects.

· 
Responsible for design and development of new tooling and improvements to existing tooling.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· 
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

· 
A minimum of 2 years of hands on experience working as a mechanical engineer

· 
Candidate must be capable of solving complex problems often requiring mechanical design and innovative thinking.

· 
Ability to well in a team environment as well as being capable of working independently.

· 
3D CAD modeling and drafting experience (Pro/E and NX preferred).

· 
Experience in developing and presenting technical documents and presentations.

· 
Well-developed English language communications skills (verbal, written and presentation); able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and management.

· 
Flexibility and willingness for domestic and international travel to energy customer job sites for approximately 20%, for durations of potentially several weeks at a time.

·

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Ideal candidate has experience in project scheduling.

· 
Ideal candidate has experience in conducting cost comparisons, technical review of designs and estimating costs for new designs and developments.

· 
Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.

· 
The ability to conceptualize and socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
