Who are we?
Our Research Group (Advanced Data Management), located in Bangalore, is part of Business Analytics and Monitoring (BAM) Technology Field of CT Research in Digitalization and Automation. Headquartered in Munich, we are a passionate community of around 190 researchers, data scientists and architects distributed across the globe. We strive to solve complex problems in various domains ranging from industry, energy, mobility and buildings to smart cities by applying methods and principles of data analytics and artificial intelligence. We are looking for equally passionate techies to join us in this exciting journey of finding solutions to some non-trivial problems of the petabyte world.

Are you up for these challenges?
Our research primarily focuses on methods and algorithms for data driven decisions. Typical topics that you would drive as part of our team include:

• Work on constructing a comprehensive Knowledge Graph that supports variance of recommendation applications.
• Develop Industrial Knowledge Graphs to build solutions to store product knowledge (turbines, etc.) with rich semantics
• Develop Interfaces to support analytics on top of integrated data
• Apply state-of-the-art NLP techniques to understand a large amount of unstructured data from our users, products etc.
• Collaborate with team members to work in many innovative applications, such as recommendation, search & ranking, Q&A, sentiment analysis, text generation (NLG), etc.

• Do you find it exciting to dive deep into an ocean of data and solve challenges associated with transforming and enriching such large complex datasets?
• Can you demonstrate outstanding ability to drive innovation and research in the form of patents and publishing papers at top-tier conferences/journals?

What are my responsibilities?
• Create innovative ideas to address the business needs in the areas that are relevant to the research group and technology field
• Implement proofs of concept and prototypes to evangelize the ideas
• Always keep abreast of the latest developments in our areas of research and stay ahead
• Disseminate the knowledge by conducting technical talks and workshops
• Create IP and publish papers in reputed international journals and conferences
• Be a brand ambassador of the team through close collaborations with other research groups and partners
• Mentor graduate student interns in order to address curious questions in our areas of research
• Lead collaboration projects with academia and expert groups

Is this you?
• Masters/PhD. in Computer Science or a related discipline from a reputed institute with grass-root experience of 2+ years in architecting and leading data analytics and machine learning applications
• Familiar with general NLP tasks and techniques, such as parsing, sequence labeling, NER, entity linking, relation extraction, etc.
• Strong knowledge of information retrieval methods, including LTR frameworks and ML ranking models
• Practical experience with enterprise search platforms (e.g. Lucene/SOLR, ES)
• Practical experience with recommender systems
• Experience on dealing with large-scale unstructured text data.
• Self-motivated. Desire to pursuit very high-quality work.
• Publications in top-tier NLP/ML/DM conferences, such as ACL, EMNLP, KDD, SIGIR and WWW, is a plus.
• Machine learning expertise is a definite plus!
