We are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Maintenance Technician within our Edinburgh Trams Infrastructure Maintenance business. Reporting to the Senior Technician Infrastructure Maintenance, you will work within the team of multidisciplinary Technicians in delivering the various elements of Edinburgh Tram Infrastructure Maintenance and Response service. 

You will undertake maintenance and response service to Edinburgh Trams Infrastructure and carry out associated activities that support the operation of the Edinburgh Tram Network. You will undertake all infrastructure maintenance and response activities to ensure the safe operation of the tram infrastructure.

We are looking for someone with experience of working within a multidisciplinary maintenance organisation, preferably in the light rail sector however we are able to consider other industries as training will be given. You will carry out work safely in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures and undertake specific inspections, prepare work, resource specification and method statements, working in accordance with safe systems of work plans. You will deliver any works in accordance with the relevant maintenance plans.

This is your role. What part will you play?

·  Undertake infrastructure maintenance and response activities
·  Carry out routine planned and corrective maintenance of Tram Infrastructure
·  Ensure that all Siemens Mobility Infrastructure Technical, Health and Safety and environmental processes and procedures are followed
·  Manage operational safety issues affecting infrastructure maintenance on a day to day basis
·  Assist Senior Technician when acting as liaison with the customer for out of course events as required
·  Ensure that maintenance is undertaken in accordance with mandated Siemens Mobility, Edinburgh Trams maintenance standards 
·  Liaise with Operational control where necessary
·  Ensure that any Infrastructure/Plant defects are recorded on the Maintenance Management System (MMS) & acted upon in accordance with the performance regime
·  Agree prioritisation of work with Senior Technicians, Track Manager and Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Manager as appropriate
·  Follow the good examples set by members of the Management Board (MB) in creating a robust H&S culture within Siemens Mobility

What knowledge and experience do you need?

·  Must have relevant experience in an electrical / mechanical engineering environment
·  Good all-round knowledge of the technical aspects of Infrastructure systems & equipment
·  Experience of MV / HV electrical power systems, maintenance and switching, would be preferable but training will be given
·  Experience of completing all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
·  Knowledge of health and safety including risk assessment, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
·  Experience of working in a team
·  Knowledge of IT systems and software
·  Good communication, planning and organisational skills
·  Full Drivers Licence
