Position Overview

As the Fluid System Component Engineer you has a vital role in the Fluid System Engineering department. You will be responsible for activities associated with planning and implementing projects for steam and gas turbine power plant equipment. In addition, primary technical point of contact between Aeroderivative Gas Turbine, Large Gas Turbine (LGT), Steam Turbine (SU) and Generator (GN) departments to produce key customer document deliverables for representing a fully integrated gas turbine package.

These key documents are:

·  Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
·  System Descriptions
·  Customer Piping Connection Process Requirements Document
·  Electrical load lists
·  Instrument, Valve, and Control Settings (IVCS) Document.
·  Procurement Specifications

Your Responsibilities

The Fluid System Component Engineer's responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Project Specific Responsibilities

Performs Project Lead functions for Project specific applications as follows:

·  Attends project kick-off, engineering interface, and baseline meetings
·  Creates and "owns" project specific system P&IDs for the gas or steam turbine package. This activity includes integrating the GT or SU auxiliary systems, Generator auxiliary systems and Glycol Cooling systems for overall application.
·  Creates and "owns" project specific Customer Piping Connection Process Information
·  Creates and "owns" project specific Instrument, Valve, and Control Settings information
·  Performs Site Readiness Reviews on a rotational basis with other Fluids Systems Engineers
·  Performs project "closeout" activities (as built P&IDs, etc.)
·  Review and approve supplier software prior to project submission
·  Review mechanical and electrical details in software submissions for compliance with procurement specifications.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
·  0-2 years of engineering experience
·  Basic knowledge of different types of pumps, filters, coolers, valves, instrumentation and air compressors.
·  Capable of performing calculations for pipe sizing, pump sizing, pressure drop and selection of control valves.
·  Basic knowledge of electric devices such as motors, transmitters, and valve actuators.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Additionally, the following skills must be developed in the successful candidate and are therefore preferred skills for any candidates that already possess them:

·  3+ years of engineering experience
·  Knowledge of typical new unit gas turbine and steam turbine delivery project life-cycle in order to understand critical items in each project phase.
·  Technical knowledge of Siemens large gas turbine packages to coordinate the design inputs among the various engineering disciplines.
·  Knowledge of mechanical devices and instrumentation to understand the necessary inputs for the plant integrated control system.
·  Ability to build effective relationships with interface partners both within and outside of Fluid System Engineering

Computer Software skills

Additionally, the following skills in software capabilities are preferred:

·  Drafting Software AUTOCAD, Bentley Open Plant and COMOS Taurus and/or Polaris.
·  Business Software PLM 2020 and/or SAP OneP as well as Idea.
·  Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
·  Fluids modeling software such as Arrow or Fathom would be a plus
