TITLE: Field Service Engineer 4

COMPANY: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.

DUTIES: Develop, upgrade, implement software, install, test, calibrate, commission, maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrohydraulic, and electronic measuring and recording instruments of Siemens capital medical imaging equipment including Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI systems: “Aera, Skyra, Amira, Avanto, Espree, Essenza, Symphony, Harmony, Sonata, Symphony TIM, Verio, Trio, Trio Tim, and Concerto”; CT systems: “Sensation, Emotion, Esprit, Definition, Edge, Flash”; MI-PET systems: “Biograph mCT, mobile and Biograph 16 & 64”; MI-SPECT systems: “Symbia T, Symbia E, E.Cam and Esoft”. Performed advanced Magnet related procedures such as: After quench procedure, Magnet De-icing, Magnet bottom helium refill, Magnet shimming and ramping. Perform Dicom Networking, remote diagnostics and provide Technical Support for customers at sites in Northern California Sacramento CA metropolitan area and occasionally at customer sites nationwide. Utilize complex calibration tools and service test equipment including network analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Gauss Meter, Magnet Power Supply, Magnet Shim Device, high voltage probe, voltmeter, Impedance meter and propriety software to perform upgrades, modifications, service and routine preventative maintenance. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers. Preform complex equipment installations, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and refurbishments. Utilize advance level knowledge and expertise to diagnose complex technical issues and subsequently upgrade/repair the equipment for the assigned modalities that support high levels of customer satisfaction and development of Siemens Service Business. Serve as an elite technical resource for Customer Service Engineers (CSE) within the service region on complex issues and provide on-site escalation support; assist the Regional Service Manager with assessing service metrics and make recommendations on how to improve them; assists other CSEs in learning about new product offerings; recommend improvements and changes to service processes, procedures and technical bulletins; provide advanced technical training and support to customer personnel.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Must have 8 years of experience with the following skills: in-depth experience on upgrading, software implementation, commissioning, testing, calibration, repairing and maintaining of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment and Dicom/PACS Networking; advanced level experience and specialized knowledge of MRI Magnet system procedures such as De-icing, Helium refill, Shimming and Ramping; remote diagnostics and Technical Support of customers and engineers; utilizing complex calibration tools and service test equipment including network analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Gauss Meter, Magnet Power Supply, Magnet Shim Device, high voltage probe, voltmeter, Impedance meter. Must have 4 years of experience with the following skills: experience on upgrading, software implementation, commissioning, testing, calibration, repairing and maintaining of other medical imaging equipment such as Computed Tomography (CT), Molecular Imaging (MI) including: Nuclear Medicine (SPECT) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET); Tune up and re-burn of SPECT system detectors. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. 60% travel to customer sites in Northern California is required. Tele-commuting permitted when not at customer site.

OTHER: Berkeley, CA. 40 hours/week; $105,569 / year.
