Overview:

Siemens Mobility. has an immediate opening for a Drafter/Technician at our facility in Louisville, KY. The candidate will have the ability to appraise quality, logic and cost effectiveness of their design and drafting work. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to learn complex systems quickly. This person reports to Manager of Drafting and Designing and will have no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will assist Wayside Engineering Department personnel to assure proper execution of the design, compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. You will support the development of documents which are required for creating an operational and safe signaling system. Requires the ability to create complex parts, assemblies and bills of material. Must be detail oriented and take ownership of projects. Must be able to work independently on projects to troubleshoot technical issues with minimal supervision.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Education:

·  High School diploma or equivalent required; Technical diploma/certificate in Computer Aided Drafting or 2 years CAD experience
·  1 year experience in AutoCAD, Microstation or 2D/3D modeling tool.
·  Experience in mechanical or electrical drafting.
·  Strong communication skill both written and verbal.
·  Ability to work independently as well as work with other group or teams.
·  Excellent computer skills are required.

Not required but preferred:

·  SAP or MRP experience in a manufacturing environment.
·  1 year experience in a Manufacturing facility.
·  Ability to program LISP routines.
·  Experience in mechanical or electrical drafting.
·  Experience with AutoCAD Electrical/AutoCAD Inventor.
