Job Description:

Position Overview

As our Commodity Management Professional for Siemens Mobility you will serve as the primary procurement contact between local management, internal clients and the supply chain management organization. You will collaborate with key departments including Quality Management, Engineering and Logistics. You will demonstrate sufficient understanding of the global supplier market in order to select the most suitable vendors who are able to deliver high quality products at competitive pricing. You will drive the expansion of the supplier market and ensure the most competitive supply chain on Total Costs (Global Value Sourcing) and negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality. You will manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality whilefollowing the Purchasing Guidelines and Processes

Responsibilities

·  Responsible regionally and cross-divisional for the purchasing volume of the commodities Promotional Items and Print Services
·  Coordinate and lead focus team regionally to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities, local or regional cross-divisional sourcing
·  Ensure purchasing volume transparency locally and regionally by, among others, correct commodity code coding to ensure true reporting of facts and to derive an appropriate commodity strategy
·  Define/adapt and implement commodity and pooling strategies (based on conducted demand, market and supplier analyses); communicate the strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of material and services
·  Define and implement negotiations concepts and strategies to maximize value contribution and financial benefits; negotiate frame agreements with preferred suppliers; define core assortments; communicate and document frame agreements in relevant Supplier Management IT-systems
·  Active stakeholder management across the businesses, locally and regionally
·  Identify particular procurement risks, opportunities and market forces to avoid potential damage / exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk and change management
·  Perform supplier management: supplier selection, incl. documentation and communication of preferred suppliers, regular performance and strategic evaluations of suppliers, supplier qualification and supplier development to obtain and development best suppliers and to ensure an optimum supply chain
·  Strategically develop and implement the digitalization roadmap of the category Services & Goods by driving or supporting the digitalization activities across the commodities (e.g. market platforms, enhanced applications, process automation)
·  Identify and driving of disruptive solutions and technology to influence the market as well as to implement new or modified market and/or sourcing standards

·  Drive the strategic purchasing of finished and un-finished fabricated components and welded assemblies

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  5+ years of experience from a Sr. Buyer to a Commodity Manager with an internationally matrix organization
·  Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and or IT related
·  Solid knowledge in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Procurement Market Analysis (PMA), and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
·  Proven expertise in designing negotiation strategies and executing negotiations successfully
·  Ability to present specific content comprehensively and understandably according to respective target group (senior and top management)
·  Effectively utilize collaboration and communication skills to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to strategies and change management
·  Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite
·  Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Deep knowledge of North American and European raw material types, grades, mill processing, and production processing
·  Experience in Supplier Weld Quality Program evaluation and adherence preferred
·  Familiarity with complex Paint, Powder-Coat and Passivation finish requirements ideal
·  Foreign languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese)
·  Solid experience in advanced negotiations (e.g. eAuction)
·  Software/Application experiences (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
·  International and inter-cultural professional experiences
