Combustion Engineer for Gas Turbine Development

Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery, in Finspång, is now seeking for a:

Combustion Engineer for Gas Turbine Development

The combustion group is responsible for the development of the combustion system in our gas turbines. The work involves development of new gas turbine models and improvements on currently available gas turbines in the company portfolio. The work includes tasks correlated both with testing and theoretical calculations. The group also works with fault solutions, contractual guarantees on emissions and definition of fuel specifications. The combustion group therefore supports the sales department and the customer site operations by giving technical advices on matters related to combustion, fuels and emissions. The group is currently composed of 15 engineers.

In this position you will have the possibility to collaborate with project leaders, mechanical designers, mechanical integrity experts and also have contacts with further departments like gas turbines control system, electrical installation, combustion laboratory, site commissioning, sales and fleet service.

What are my responsibilities?

· Influence development project for current and new products.
· Independently drive problem solving tasks and root cause analysis.
· Technical advice and support to our colleagues from sales, commissioning and service.
· Perform and analyze combustion tests in our labs and on gas turbines.
· Working with both in-house and commercial 3D CFD tools

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· BSc, MSc or PhD level within the area; combustion, chemistry, energy, mechanical design or equal.
· General knowledge of fluid dynamics
· Other relevant experience from combustion systems, components or equal is desirable.
· Great communication and collaboration skills
· Good knowledge in Swedish and English, both writing and speaking.
