Through this hands-on role, provides engineering support, problem analysis, technical assistance, new product development and process improvements. Provides technical support and training for department Set-Ups, Utilities and Process Operators. Evaluates and makes recommendations for equipment and materials used in the manufacturing processes. 2nd Shift Hours: 2:30 pm - 10:51 pm

What do you get to do in this position?

· Provides continuous “on the floor” support and assists Set-Ups, Quality Assurance Department and Molding Tool Room Department in testing, trouble shooting and repairing equipment and tools to ensure production needs are met.
· Utilizes Process Monitoring System in determining process improvements.
· Implements process changes to increase productivity and reduce scrap.
· Provide training for department Set-Ups, Utilities and Process Operators pertaining to equipment, processes, safety, and quality procedures.
· Coordinates communication link with tool room and designers.
· Provides technical assistance in new product development and design and in the purchase of molding equipment, materials and compounds.
· Trouble shoots molds and provides technical assistance in the mechanical/electrical operation of molding presses.
· Develops and documents process sheets for Set-Ups.
· Initiates production improvements through scrap reduction, process and machine improvements.
· Works with production and quality personnel to establish and maintain product quality standards through optimization of materials/process selection.
· Performs problem analysis and finds root cause corrections on issues that are not part of a sponsored project either independently or in conjunction with various continuous improvement teams.
· Reviews all engineering project requests and product engineering changes prior to submitting to product engineering.
· Assists in proper support of company policies and procedures regarding compliance with such legal activities as the Occupational Health Act, Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Program.
RELATIONSHIP TO OTHERS


Molding Department - Accountable to Manufacturing Manager, Molding, for the fulfillment of the job responsibilities.

Tool Room/Designers - Maintain close relations with tool room and designers to make continuous improvements to successfully improve production processes.

Product Engineering - Maintain communication of incoming new products and changes to existing products.

Set-Ups, Utility Workers & Process Operators - Provide ongoing training and development activities.
