Quality Engineer Summer Internship

What do you get to do in this position?

The Lexington, KY Smart Factory is a heavily-automated operation critical to the Company's supply chain, producing Load Centers and Safety Switches utilizing the power of Industrial Internet of Things (IIot) to drive process optimization.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of Quality Engineer Intern for Summer 2020 . This person will be primarily responsible for driving continuous improvement processes and projects within our Smart Factory.

What do you get to do in this position?

· Drive improvements through Industrial solutions in compliance with the Schneider Performance System (SPS) lean principles and conform to safety standards
· Lead Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement efforts
· Perform root cause analysis of situations and implement corrective actions
· Hands on support for implementation of new cell layouts
· Monthly Reports consolidating the Quality KPIs for the group
· Providing training and support on key quality improvement tools such as 8D and FMEA
· Performing assessments of plant Quality Systems

·  Actively enrolled at the time of hire in a university degree program in BS Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology Engineering or equivalent.
·  Possess proven leadership qualities and ability to facilitate conflicts.
·  Self-motivated and self-directed with high sense of urgency.
·  Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and organization skills.
·  Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
·  Ability to achieve results
