Manufacturing Engineer Summer Internship

The Lexington, KY Smart Factory is a heavily-automated operation critical to the Company's supply chain, producing Load Centers and Safety Switches utilizing the power of Industrial Internet of Things (IIot) to drive process optimization.

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to assume the role of Manufacturing Engineer Intern for Summer 2020 . This person will be primarily responsible for driving continuous improvement processes and projects within our Smart Factory.

What do you get to do in this position?

· Schneider Performance System (SPS) lean principles and conform to safety standards
· Lead or support Lean/Kaizen activities.
· Hands on support for implementation of new cell layouts.
· Design and develop layouts and methods to ensure the manufacturability of the product.
· Develops assembly processes and work instructions and trains workforce.
· Utilize existing Lean Manufacturing concepts while resolving barriers and implementing improvements.

Qualifications :

This job might be for you if:

·  Actively enrolled at the time of hire in a college/university degree program in BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electric, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
·  Possess proven leadership qualities and ability to facilitate conflicts.
·  Self-motivated and self-directed with high sense of urgency.
·  Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and organization skills.
·  Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
·  Ability to achieve results
