Job Description:

The MV Drive Systems Order Engineer is responsible for customer order engineering activities around complex high power packaged Adjustable Frequency Drive and Solid-State Reduced Voltage (Softstart) systems. The primary responsibilities will be to develop customer specific drive system design packages for Medium Voltage (MV) systems with secondary responsibility on Low Voltage systems.

This position will report to the North American Regional Drive Applications Center Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Interface with Designers and 3 rd party vendors or internal SE suppliers to develop packaged drive solution schematics, panel layouts and Bill of Material to meet the detailed needs of specific customer orders. Inclusive of software and hardware interfaces.
· Works pro-actively with project managers, sales support team, consultants, end users, and designers to assure that order objectives regarding specification compliance, local requirements, system cost, schedule and design quality are met.

Develops strong expertise on all technical aspects of the Altivar 6000, 1260 and 1260C MV Drive offers.

· Works closely with MV Quotation Specialists as MV Application Expert to assure quoted offers meet customer's application requirements and Specification Exceptions are properly documented.
· Identifies critical technical and design issues and problems, identifies corrective actions, and follows through to completion.
· Works effectively with manufacturing personnel to resolve problems encountered during the assembly process
· Manages the development of customer specific technical documentation per Schneider Electric design requirements

Provides support on post-shipment technical issues as required

Occasional travel to customer sites to support commissioning or other service activities

Requirements:

· 
A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Master's preferred

· 
7 to 10 years of successful and pertinent experience with drives or industrial controls. Specific MV Drive experience is highly preferred.

· 
Familiarity with basic electrical standards including NEC, UL-508A, UL-51800-5-1, and UL 347A

· 
Experience with Computer Aided Drafting software (AutoCad, ProEngineer, Solidworks, E-Plan)

· 
Ability to effectively design and document drive assemblies given basic conceptual information

· 
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

· 
Excellent problem resolution skills

· 
Ability to positively interact with marketing and manufacturing personnel

· 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Chinese language skills would be a plus
