Square D – Schneider Electric, a leading manufacturer of residential circuit breakers, has an immediate opening for a Toolroom Machinist on 2nd shift (2:30-10:51pm)

Person qualified uses sketches, blueprints, tools, equipment and instruments to fabricate precision parts. Must posses craftsmanship skills, an trouble shooting ability to make precise adjustments on fixtures and other equipment to produce product parts of the required quality. Obtains and use correct materials, supplies, or parts for fabrication. Does inspection and audits related to the support of company's preventative maintenance, repairs and objectives.

Qualifications :

Education & Experience

Machinist Trainee: Successful candidate must have high school diploma or GED, a two year technical degree and/or equivalent work experience from an apprenticeship program

Machinist: Trainee requirements plus at least two years related experience.

Skills/Characteristics

- Ability to communicate effectively with others, oral and/or written

- Ability to work in a fast paces multi-task environment

- Ability to work individually and with peers

- Ability to read and understand blueprints

- Ability to operate machine shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, etc.

Physical Demands

- Medium work. Exerts heavy pressure, up to 50 pounds of force, to use tools and move items manually

- Ability to walk and/or stand 12 hours per shift (Continuous Operations)

- Ability to walk and/or stand 8 hours per shift (Traditional Shifts)

- Two handed work, reaching and grasping tools and equipment

- Ability to get around the plant

- Visual requirements for inspection work
