Electronic Software and Hardware Engineer
We are searching for an experienced Electronic Software and Hardware Engineer at our Belgian facility. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

Within a project / product team, you will be required, in the context of on board spacecraft / satellite / launcher applications, to define, design, develop, validate algorithms and solutions involving hardware and software sub-systems (and their interactions) for a new development project (as a practical example, from definition to the validation of the architecture and algorithm to drive the solar arrays deployment or thruster orientation management for propulsion or for a launcher).

Main activities:
 Understand the system in which the developed solution will be included, in order to define the solution accordingly
 Understand and study the implementation feasibility (mixing hardware and software constraints)
 Perform electrical and software specifications and system studies
 Define the functional architecture, propose a product breakdown in elementary functions
 Develop/adapt the embedded software used in a multi-core microcontroller
 Perform software coding, including handling of mission critical quality level
 Define and manage the lab test campaign that validates the developed solution
 Analyze and interpret simulation & lab test results
 Investigate on potential anomalies
 Write Reports, design justifications and various descriptive documents
 Use of simulation software to validate the solutions
 Perform the design robustness analyses (Margins analysis, Failure Mode analysis, …)

Required Qualifications:

Master in Electronics / Embedded Software Engineering
 At least 3 years of experience in electronics.
 Thorough knowledge of discrete electronic (analog/digital) design (transistor level).
 Very good knowledge of programming techniques for embedded μP and μC
 Very good knowledge of C language, knowledge of Python, and practice of one assembly language
 Good knowledge of regulation loops, stability criteria’s, rejection, …
 Good experience in an electronic lab environment
 Knowledge of electrical security rules (BA5)
 General physical sense and orders of magnitude
 Autonomous, ability to prioritize a workload, rigorous and inventive
 Excellent interpersonal skills (leadership, sound judgment, synthesis)
 Proven solving skills and decision oriented
 Challenges winner and good team spirit

Desirable
 Good knowledge or open to learn about power converters topologies (buck, boost, …)
 Good knowledge or open to learn about communication protocols, including UART and CAN
 Good knowledge or open to learn about real-time programming techniques
 Knowledge of Microcap,Simetrix/Simplis and/or Matlab/Simulink simulators
 Familiar with Agile method and Scrum framework
 Knowledge of Dutch and/or French
 Mobility between Leuven and Charleroi
