Position Title: Principal Data Scientist Scientist

Mission:

Sanofi Pasteur is looking for an innovative Data Scientist to join our team to help create the next generation of analytics and artificial intelligence solutions. As part of Toronto Data Science team in Manufacturing Technology department, you will work with modern cloud based technologies to deliver high value advanced analytics use cases across the bio-manufacturing lifecycle covering bio-process development, manufacturing, quality and compliance, and supply chain.

Key Accountabilities:

·  Ability to follow multiple approaches for data science project execution from adapting existing assets to new use cases, exploring third-party tools and open source solutions for speed, to execution and for specific use cases, engaging in fundamental research to develop novel solutions.
·  On-going consultative engagement with subject matter experts to understand needs, challenges, key business decisions and existing process workflow.
·  Build data pipelines including collection, cleaning and integration of relevant data.
·  Rigorous model development process, including training, validation and deployment of advanced predictive models.
·  Strong user centric approach to ensure that ML/AI solutions developed have high business value, and are well embedded in the business workflow.
·  Provide scientific and technical leadership in machine learning / AI in the data science community.

Education and Experience:

·  Masters or Ph.D. in one of the following quantitative fields: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research
·  Minimum of three (3) years industry experience
·  Practical hands on experience in developing, testing and deploying machine learning algorithms
·  Strong programming skills in Python with a solid training on best practices in code development and management
·  Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as Sagemaker, Databricks, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Theano, Keras
·  Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, probability modelling
·  Working experience with distributed computing environments and cloud environments (specifically AWS)
·  Familiar with agile methodology and product management in software development
·  Experience with developing full stack applications, both front-end and back-end is a plus
·  Experience with analyzing high volume, high velocity time series data is a plus
·  Experience with NLP, Image Analytics, Search, Graph databases a plus
·  Prior experience in a pharma industry with a knowledge of good practices of validation for technology systems, tools and models in a GMP environment is plus
